Blurred vision that is caused by an irregularly shaped cornea or lens. Correctable with eyeglasses and often with contact lenses and refractive surgery such as LASIK..

Caused by the eye being too short in length this results in vision that is more blurry at near than at far. This is correctable with eyeglasses and often with contact lenses or refractive surgery such as LASIK.

Caused by the eye being too long in length this results in vision that is more blurry at far than at near. This is correctable with eyeglasses, contact lenses, and often with refractive surgery such as LASIK.

This results from a decrease in the ability to change focus from distance to near. It often happens near the age of 40 and requires reading glasses or bifocals. Refractive surgery cannot address presbyopia without impacting distance vision.

Inflammation of the eyelids that often results in redness and irritation. Often associated with bacterial infection, dry eyes, and some skin conditions such as acne rosacea.

Inflammation causing a pink or red color of the white part of the eye. This can be caused by infection, allergy, and chemical irritants. Conjunctivitis may be contagious and treatment varies depending upon the cause.

Chronic inflammation that results from decreased tear quantity and/or quality. Treatments depend upon severity and include environmental modification, artificial tears, nutritional supplementation, medications such as Restasis, and punctal plugs.

This age-related disease impacts central vision and comes in two varieties. The dry form is by far the most common and fortunately causes less vision loss.
